I was digging in my stash and found this. Here is a vintage Schwinn Speedometer head which fits most any vintage Schwinn bike including Schwinn Schwinn Stingray, Deluxe Stingray, Typhoon, Fair Lady, Letour, Paramount, Continental, Breeze, Varsity, Suburban, Racer, Corvette, Jaguar, Typhoon, Stingray, etc.
This one comes exactly as shown and is in fair condition for its age. (see pics) Has a cool patina that everyone seems to love these days! It will look right at home on your vintage bicycle. It shows 1624 miles on the odometer and goes up to 40 MPH. Will look better with a basic detailing.
The majority of the vintage Schwinn bike speedoometers I have seen are FROZEN! I lightly spun it with a drill. It WORKS but is kind of slow and sticky. (You may want to lubricate it or go through it if you want it to function. Otherwise, most people simply use these for display) It looks better in person than it does in the pics.
"Period Correct" items are always best on a vintage bike. A new item on a vintage bike looks out of place. These are so cool and getting VERY hard to find these days! It will look nice on many bikes of the era! ENJOY!
